Founder & CEO
Julianna Misuraca, LCSW
Julianna is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Hunter College and her Master’s Degree in Social Work from Adelphi University. She has experience in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).
She has worked with multiple communities that vary significantly throughout her career with the intention to understand and assist each unique individual. She has worked with the geriatric population, parents and children, and couples. She has worked closely with those struggling with alcohol and substance abuse and addiction, and those with severe and mild mental health disorders ranging from depression and anxiety to schizophrenia, bi-polar 1 and 2, and personality disorders.
Julianna believes in looking into various aspects of a person’s life to assist in any way possible and relatable to the person. She has made a point to study many different cultural beliefs and value systems to better understand how to do this. She is a native New Yorker but has spent much of her adult life exploring different countries to experience their cultures and points of view.
Julianna believes that as we go through life and try to create beauty in it that we sometimes create knots and things become entangled, sticky, and uneasy to break through. Her purpose is to empower individuals and guide them on their path to bliss, ease, and everyday enjoyment. She believes that once we untangle these knots, it's easier to see and identify them.
Julianna fosters teamwork with everyone she works with to help them get through their difficulties. She is very transparent about telling her clients that sharing your secrets with someone can be scary and that sometimes it's OK to not want to process childhood trauma. She's there for anyone who just needs help getting through dark and stormy days that they want to keep hidden from everyone else.
Julianna firmly believes that we must guide the present toward our desired direction to provide for the future. She focuses on practical aspects of life like scheduling and organizing, which is her own personal superpower. She has created a holistic blanket throughout her practices that includes a mind, body and spirit approach. Mind- our thoughts and behaviors, body- our physical movements, and spirit- the hope and love that we hold in our hearts.
